		<description>I wrote and designed this 12-page personal narrative after I attended a funeral. The story critiques death rituals through awkward moments with family and absurd encounters with commerce. Artifacts seen at the periphery of my experience are placed at the edges of the pages where they are cropped at varying degrees of recognition.

		<description>At a gallery event, I gave away copies of  the template zine and displayed this oversized paint-by-number image of a cemetery (which corresponded to the inside cover of the zine). Using labeled markers, participants filled in the cemetery at the exhibition opening.

What I love about participatory work is that even within a strict template-based structure, people find ways to break the rules and express their individuality.
